The 1st Annual Poltava Youth Leadership Conference
The Poltava Institute of Economics and Law presents the 1st annual Poltava Youth Leadership Conference supported by the Poltava Rotary Club, The International Rotary Association and Poltava US Peace Corps volunteers.
The goal of the four day conference, August 17th -20th, is to empower Poltava Oblast youth to return to their communities with the drive and skills to implement projects to effect change. Participants will learn skills in the following areas; leadership, volunteerism, project design and management, and democracy.
Conference Program
The conference will be a mixture of skills seminars, guest speakers, group meetings, team building activities and trainings.
Evenings will provide participants with opportunities for cultural exchanges such as Ukrainian folk art and dancing, sports activities, city excursions, and English focused activities
Guest speakers include members of the Poltava Rotary Club, Poltava Oblast government officials, and NGOs.
Poltava Youth Leadership Conference will provide food, lodging and transportation costs for all attendees. Conference participants are responsible for day-to-day spending money.
How to Attend
We are inviting motivated students who are entering the 10th and 11th form (2011-12 school year) who are interested in becoming leaders in their communities. All applications are due by Monday, May 16th and all applicants will be notified by Tuesday, May 31st.
To attend:
• Send the completed application form and motivation statement to pol.oblast@gmail.com and/or your local contact (teacher/director).
• Ensure the entire application is completed in either Ukrainian or English.
• If the application is completed in Ukrainian, ensure that the English language question is answered only in English.
